Recently, Meta’s employee count was 72,000 people, and there have been intentions to grow rapidly despite announcing a 5% reduction in support employees which totals 3,600 people. This strategy seeks to reposition the company’s image as it focuses on the next stage of development.

Major Data Center Initiative

In Meta’s infrastructural improvement project, the company also plans to create modern data centers with over 2 gigawatt capacity. This specific project is unbelievably massive; it is sufficient to serve most of Manhattan’s processing requirements. This facility will act as the backbone for Meta’s AI goals and strengthen its capabilities in processing large datasets and analyzing them with astonishing speed.

Computing Power on an Unimaginable Scale

The dependency on Nvidia’s overturning AI chips is well documented, but this new undertaking will require the company to expand its existing boundaries. By the end of 2025, Meta plans to add over 1.3 million Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) along with an additional 1 Gigawatt of computing power.

Zuckerberg made a Facebook post calling 2025 a revolutionary year for AI and Meta’s company advancement. He expressed great confidence concerning the trajectory of the company stating that Meta AI is bound to become the best virtual assistant serving up to more than a billion people. He further claimed that Llama 4, Meta’s next-gen AI model will become the new norm for advancement in innovation.

Zuckerberg claimed, “In 2025, I assume Meta AI will be the top assistant with over 1 billion users. Llama 4 will be the primary top-notch model, and we will create an AI engineer who will incrementally deliver added code to our R&D activities.” 

Meta’s AI marketing materials particularly highlight the advantages of using the system promptly after its initial release, which aligns with projected business needs after Meta invests heavily in advertising technology.

The competition for AI is achieving new levels of intensity.
